A phase balance relay is a device that monitors
a three-phase AC power supply and can trip if
it detects a fault condition. It can also detect
phase loss and unbalance in systems that use motors,
generators, transformers, and heater elements
The phase unbalance feature will protect
motors of any size against:
Excessive temperature rise due to unbalanced supplies
The regenerated voltage generated during a single
phase failure when running at low load.
